Raining tonight as I drive home. A glance in my rear view mirror displays a vanishing trail of water.  Days grow near to my departure. With the thoughts of being at distance from this place I long for its familiarity. I long to see the small details that make this city beautiful. I’ve driven down this road all my life and know every pothole, the speed of every turn, when 55 becomes 60 and 60 becomes 65. A steady calmness with every movement and pressing of the accelerator, this road will be here when I return.

It isn’t more time that I’m looking for, it’s the moments like this. Moments of clarity that allows one to see the beauty in small things and above all appreciate life. It could be taking a walk downtown on a Saturday afternoon or the sharing of laughter amongst friends you have come to know and love.

All too often its without the fear of

losing something that we disregard its true value.

And so another day passes, a birthday is celebrated and the streets of Denver seem to become even more intriguing to me. These are the things that made me happy here, the things that will be missed the most.
