Last Day in Fernando de Noronha

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

We’ll its day five and my last here on this tropical paradise. Have some good videos to post but that will have to wait until tonight when the internet is quicker. Until then check out more pics showing off the top three beautiful beaches of Brazil.

Highlights of Noronha:

+ Saw some breathtaking views of the beach, ocean, and forests; most of the time without a single person in sight

+ Came face to face with my first shark and didn’t die

+ Drove for the first time in Brazil and didn’t die

+ Scuba dived at night with the moon and stars overhead. Amazingly beautiful and scary at the same time

+ Learned that people who dive are fun and a little crazy, regardless of their country or gender

- Wasn’t seated next to anyone on the flight over, this time on an entirely different airline. This makes it 4 flights in a row WTF!?

- Learned the locals here treat you like a nuisance rather than a guest, was forced to be an a-hole in Portuguese.

- Witnessed incident #4 of puking in Brazil. This time off the side of a diving boat as I was jumping in. Yummy. That makes it puke in every city of my trip so far.

Fernando de Noronha

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Arrived on the island not wanting to waste any time. Been lugging around diving equipment for the past month for only one reason: Fernando de Noronha. Aside from having the 3 most beautiful beaches in Brazil its also a world class diving location. A quick buggy ride took me to a sky blue house nestled on the beach where I’ll be staying the next 4 days. Grabbed my snorkel and flippers and headed to the ocean. Only a few feet into sea and I was immediately surrounded by fish and sea turtles. Check out the photos for a closer look at paradise.
